Keesha Sharp Joins Taye Diggs in the BET+ Crime Series ‘Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy’

The BET+ crime series Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy is set to come out later this year. Mona Scott-Young (Stevie J & Joseline Go Hollywood, Love & Hip-Hop: Miami) of Monami Productions and Eric Tomosunas (A Walk to Remember, Uncensored) of Swirl Films are set to develop the series. According to the Deadline exclusive, Keesha Sharp (Lethal Weapon, Power Book II: Ghost) was brought on to star opposite Taye Diggs (Equilibrium, All American).

This newest series is based on Ron Stodghill’s (Scorned: Love Kills, The Real Murders of Atlanta) book Redbone: Money, Malice and Murder in Atlanta. Scott-Young and Tomosunas would serve as the showrunners and main executive producers. Gregory R. Anderson (Rolling into Christmas, Ripple Effect) will be the main writer. Courtney Miller (Reparations!: The Musical, Saints & Sinners) is set to direct along with Jaira Thomas (Girl in the Closet, Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy).

Also joining Scott-Young and Tomosunas as executive producers would be Stodghill,  John Baldasare (Twice Bitten, The Family Business), Noelle Broussard (The First Noelle, Sisters), Lorisa Bates (The First Noelle, BET Her Parents: The Waiting Room), Stephanie Gayle (Stevie J & Joseline Go Hollywood, Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta), Devin Griffin (The Confession Tapes, The Sound of Christmas), Keith Neal (Coins Forever, Uncensored), Marvin Neil (Haus of Vicious, The First Noelle), Brian Rikuda (The Ultimate Hustler, Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy), Ron Robinson (Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story, Saints & Sinners), and Abbey Sibucao-MacDonald (Last Call, Never Would Have Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story).

Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy revolves around Digg’s character named Lance. He is found murdered in his home. Soon after, many questions and allegations arise about who wanted him dead. An investigation is launched which reveals previously hidden details and secrets behind Lance. This series reconstructs Lance’s life as told by the various players in it, and it is up to the audience to help solve the mystery, via Deadline

No one else has been announced as a cast member besides Sharp and Diggs. She is set to portray Blair Herndon, Lance’s ex-wife. More details would be released as announcements will come later this year.
