Netflix released the fourth season of Stranger Things on May 27, 2022. The signature series of Netflix drew sensational attention and popularity immediately. Kate Bush’s 1985 classic single “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” receives a significant push after being featured in the series. “Running Up That Hill” first appears in the premiere episode. The song plays an important role in Max’s storyline.
The song is currently on top of the U.S. iTunes chart, surpassing Lady Gaga’s Top Gun theme song “Hold My Hand” and Harry Styles’ newest single “As It Was”. On Spotify, the song also surges dramatically to the No.2 spot with over 1.3 million daily streams. Its music video received over 1.2 million plays in the last 24 hours.
“Running Up That Hill” was the lead single of Bush’s 1985 album Hounds of Love that would go on and become her biggest hit of the era. The album peaked at No.1 on the U.K. album chart and No.30 on the U.S. album chart. The album contains another signature classic of Bush’s career, “Cloudbusting”. In 2020, Rolling Stone ranked Hounds of Love as the 68th greatest album of all time.

Stranger Things helped revive another song in the previous season. Following its use of the theme song to the hit fantasy film The NeverEnding Story by Limahl last season, the music video spiked 800 percent shortly after the new episodes were released, according to Deadline.
As for now, only the first half of the fourth season is available for streaming. The second half will be released on July 1, 2022.
