Kat Dennings’ Hulu Comedy ‘Dollface’ Names Michelle Nader as New Showrunner

As Dollface prepares to enter production on its second season, the Hulu comedy has named a new showrunner for the future of the show. Michelle Nader (producer, B-Positive) is set to be the Kat Dennings-led (WandaVision) series’ showrunner moving forward, via Deadline.

Nader’s addition to Dollface will serve as a reunion for her and Dennings, as the pair previously worked together on the CBS comedy, 2 Broke Girls. According to Deadline, Nader served as the executive producer and showrunner on 2 Broke Girls. Speaking on the duo’s work record, Nader joked “I only run shows that Kat Dennings stars in – I think that’s smart plan. She is incredible” (Deadline).

Dennings had her own way of celebrating Nader’s addition to the Dollface creative team, telling fans to prepare for the future of the series in a tweet Tuesday.

Previously, Dollface was led by showrunner Ira Undgerleider (producer, Friends), according to Deadline. There is no reported reason for this change in leadership.

In Dollface, Dennings plays Jules, a woman who is struggling with heartbreak after her boyfriend dumps her. Via Deadline, Jules deals with real-world and imagined challenges as she tries to regain her footing in the world as a social, single woman. Brenda Song (The Social Network), Esther Povitsky (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars) star alongside Dennings.

Dollface was created by Jordan Weiss (writer, Harley Quinn series), who, according to Deadline, additionally serves as an executive producer. Alongside Weiss and Nader, the other executive producers on the series include Dennings, Margot Robbie (actress and producer, Birds of Prey), Brett Hedblom (producer, Everly), Tom Ackerley (producer, Promising Young Woman), Bryan Unkeless (producer, I, Tonya), Scott Morgan (producer, I, Tonya), and Nicole King (producer, Yes Day).
