The upcoming anime, Kaiju No.8, based on the manga series created by Naoya Matsumoto (Neko Wappa!) has gain popularity and will launch in this coming April. The series follows the journey of Kafka Hibino, a man who dreams of joining the Defense Force against kaijus. However, his plans are thwarted when he ingest one and unexpectedly becomes a kaiju himself According to Comicbook, a recent update of the anime was revealed that the show will not only be streaming globally via Crunchyroll, but also in tandem with Japan’s broadcast.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the obstacles that Kafka will have to overcome while working alongside the defense force. On the official Crunchyroll website, the current cast consists of Nazeeh Tarsha( Genshin Impact), Adam McArthur(Jujutsu Kaisen), Katelyn Barr (Spy X Family), Abigail Blythe (The Dark Room), and Landon McDonald (Beyblade Burst).
According to Comicbook, Crunchyroll is going all out for Kaiju No. 8. Not only will the simulcast feature subtitles in multiple languages, but viewers can also expect a variety of dubs to be released later on the same day. This includes English, German, French, and even dubs in languages like Hindi and Telugu, ensuring a truly global audience.
According to Comicbook, Kaiju No. 8 has animation powerhouse Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell) at the helm, while Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion) lends its expertise to the kaiju designs. The soundtrack of the show will feature major song artists: YUNGBLUD for the opening theme and OneRepublic for the ending.
The official synopsis of the series, via Comicbook, states, “With the highest kaiju-emergence rates in the world, Japan is no stranger to attack by deadly monsters. Enter the Japan Defense Force, a military organization tasked with the neutralization of kaiju. Kafka Hibino, a kaiju-corpse cleanup man, has always dreamed of joining the force.
