HBO Films is confirming a deal with Julie Delpy to create a movie adaptation of Marisa Acocella Marchetto’s memoir “Cancer Vixen: A True Story”, according to Deadline.
Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine”) will star in the film as well as serve a role executive producing with Mavern Pictures partners Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray, according to Deadline.
Delpy has been exposing herself to writing and directing roles in recent years with penning “Before Sunrise” and “Before Midnight” as well as writing/directing “2 Days In Paris”, the sequel “2 Days In New York”, “The Countess” and French comedy “Skylab”, according to Indiewire.
“Blanchett will play a cartoonist for magazines like The New Yorker and Glamour with a supercharged Manhattan lifestyle who is about to get married but must re-examine her life through wit and her animation when she is diagnosed with by breast cancer,” Deadline reported.
