One of Netflix’s most popular series of 2017 was Marvel’s The Punisher. After fans eagerly waited for the series to premiere, The Punisher did not disappoint, with many viewers naming it the best Marvel series Netflix has produced yet.
Not surprisingly, Netflix quickly renewed The Punisher for a second season this past December after its warm reception by fans. Now, Netflix’s production of season 2 is well underway, and Screen Rant reports that the series has added three new actors to its cast for the new episodes.
Josh Stewart (known for his roles in The Collector franchise and the FX series Dirt) has been cast as John Pilgrim, a character who, like Frank Castle, has a violent past that continues to haunt him. Meanwhile, Giorgia Whigham (13 Reasons Why, MTV’s Scream) will play new character Amy Bendix, a street-smart girl brought into the fold of Frank Castle’s world come the events of season 2.
Floriana Lima (Supergirl, The Mob Doctor) is the third new addition, having been cast as Krista Dumont, a psychotherapist for veterans. Many have speculated Dumont might be responsible for treating Frank in season 2. Lima confirmed the news of her joining The Punisher on Twitter.

Though Netflix has not yet confirmed any returning cast members, Ben Barnes (Billy Russo on the series), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“Microchip”), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Amber Rose Revah (Dinah Madani) are all thought to be continuing their roles for season 2 as well.
Season 2 of The Punisher is expected to hit Netflix some time in 2019.
