Joseph Gordon-Levitt Variety Show Among Others on New Cable Station

“Pivot”, Participant Media’s soon to be cable channel has announced the premiere dates for the new shows that will jump start the station’s opening on August 1. Pivot is planned for launch with over 40 million subscribers according to its proposal in March of this year. It will launch with a planned 300 hours of new and unique programming.

Among the said 300 hours of programming is the Meghan McCain hosted documentary/talk television show Raising McCain. The daughter of senator McCain will be on the road interviewing experts, self-claimed experts, regular people and maybe even some strange people about some of the touchiest or hottest subjects of today, depending on your interpretation of what touchy is. Raising McCain will premiere September 14.

One of the cable stations most anticipated shows in the metaphorical womb is hitRECord, an open source community turned viral and now a variety show hosted and began by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Artist, musicians and others will create short films, live performances, musical pieces and more that will be focused on a different theme. The show is said to premiere January 14, 2014.

The hybrid between documentary and soap opera, Jersey Strong, follows the Romeo and Juliet-esque lives of two separate families on different sides of the fence.   One side of the fence is the street, the other side is the good life. The show compares and contrast the alternate universes as both cultures strive for the American Dream.

99%-the Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film, is to premiere on September 17. The collaboration goes behind the scenes to the faces and communities that spurred the Occupy Wall street movement. The big picture is analyzed with the smaller pixels of personal stories and real struggles that made people want to stand up and take action.
