Jordan Peele’s ‘The Twilight Zone’ Releases Season Two Trailer and Set to Premiere Next Month

Anthology thriller reboot The Twilight Zone will make a return on CBS All Access on June 25th, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Host and narrator Jordan Peele (Get Out) is set to deliver another successful season of this classic science fiction series consisting of 10 episodes.

The upcoming season features an array of guest stars set to make an appearance. This includes Jenna Elfman, Ethan Embry, Sky Ferreira, Tavi Gevinson, Topher Grace, Gillian Jacobs, Thomas Lennon, Sophia Macy, Natalie Martinez, Joel McHale, Christopher Meloni, Gretchen Mol, Billy Porter, Daniel Sunjata and Damon Wayans Jr. Peele will return as the host and narrator for the show.

CBS All Access hints, “The series’ second season uses introspection and self-exploration to usher viewers into dimension filled with endless possibilities.” The trailer doesn’t offer specifics of each episode, but it does feature some eerie clips and shots with spine-chilling music. The theme of introspection and self-exploration comes into play with haunting voiceovers and visually striking scenes pertaining to identity. The trailer contains many scattered visual and auditory clues as to what original episodes this reboot may recreate. In particular, the shot with the man looking for his broken glasses suggests that the season may feature a reconstructed version of an original Twilight Zone episode entitled “Time Enough at Last.” In the scene, a man reflects on how he is finally living his dream life with a multitude of books to surround himself with in solitude, but, once given the chance, his glasses break. It’s a message about carpe diem and pursuing passions before the opportunity passes, as well as not letting others dictate your life. This seems to fit neatly into the theme of The Twilight Zone second season of identity and self-exploration.
