Fresh off of his big Emmy win, Jon Hamm is getting some exciting new work.
Jon Hamm will appear as a guest voice on Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants. Hamm will voice a character who is set to appear on an episode of the animated hit sometime next year, according to Variety. His character name is Don Grouper. No doubt his appearance is inspired by his work as Don Draper on Mad Men that won him the Emmy.
There is a sketch of Hamm’s character that can be seen below.
The similarities are definitely there with the same impeccable style as Hamm’s Mad Men character. Grouper works for an ad agency called Grouper, Goby & Koi. Nickelodeon says this about Grouper,“when Don’s in the room, everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey.” Grouper is the head of the ad agency and is charismatic, with a sharp mind and plenty of charm.
Grouper is brought in by Mr. Krabs who is looking to expand his business The Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs wants to start selling frozen Krabby Patties and presumably Grouper is going to help him market them.
While it might not be exactly the same as getting more Mad Men episodes, fans of the series will likely enjoy the Draper inspired character and Hamm’s rising popularity will generate significant buzz when the episode airs next year.
