Jon Favreau Posts New Details on His Upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Disney Series, Which Will be Titled ‘The Mandalorian’

Jon Favreau has released some news via Instagram about the new live action Star Wars series coming to Disney Streaming Services. The post officially confirms rumors that have been floating around for the last couple of months. The post reveals that the series is going to be called The Mandalorian. It will focus on a “lone gunfighter” and it will be set after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

As previously announced, Favreau will both write and executive produce for the upcoming series. There were also some plot details revealed, which then followed some speculation. However, it was originally thought that it would center around Boba Fett’s story. With it happening after Boba Fett’s story it means that there will be a new “lone gunfighter” added to the franchise.

There has been no word on when the new series to the franchise will be released, but there are rumors that production will be start within the coming weeks and there are also rumors that it will be released in fall 2019. It will be available only on Disney’s streaming service that will be released here soon. Right now there have been no casting update, but there are also rumors that Game of Thrones and Wonder Woman 1984 actor Pedro Pascal.

The Budget for the series is going to be $100 million and Disney has made a ten episode order for the show. Hopefully more news pops up here soon!
