According to Comicbook, Joe Manganiello (How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill) is hosting the annual Geek Week, a Netflix social. The event will be on September 19, streaming worldwide on Networks such as Twitch, X and YouTube. Netflix will keep fans posted on the function’s details, including the host’s first announcement, which will start on Monday morning.
Manganiello is known for his roles in Dungeons & Dragons, Magic Mike and Spider-Man. Even before hosting Geek Week, he had received multiple offers to host different events and shows.
A recent hosting opportunity for Manganiello was in Deal or No Deal Island, a recently released reality television series. He is the face of the show, and his duties include being a banker and assisting the contestants in challenges and a few games. In addition to being a host, Manganiello also executively produced the show.
Geek Week is scheduled to showcase Netflix’s Original projects that are to come in the future. These include well-known titles that will come back for a returning season, such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Black Mirror and One Piece.
Joining Manganiello as a host are Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle, Parenthood) and Jacob Bertrand (Ready Player One, Rise of the Guardians) from Cobra Kai and other “special correspondents” that have been scheduled. With the two hosts from the Cobra Kai franchises, fans can expect the show’s news to be covered as part two of the sixth and final season, which will be released November 15, 2024.
The correspondents Netflix has chosen are Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone, Wind River), Charlie Brooker (Cunk on Britain, Black Mirror), Alycia Debman-Carey (Fear The Walking Dead, The 100), Dallas Liu (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Pen15), Gavin Leatherwood (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Sex Life of College Girls), James Morosini (Threesomething, It’s What’s Inside), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Cruella, Why Women Kill), Kori Kingston (Escape the Undertaker), Brittany O’Grady (Star, Little Voice), Ian Ousley (Young Sheldon, 13 Reasons Why), Matt Owens (Wendy, Stella For Star), Tom Sturridge (The Sandman, Mary Shelley), Zack Snyder (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League), Jeff Ward (One Piece, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Finn Wittrock (Luckiest Girl Alive, American Horror Story) and Xavier Woods (WWE Smackdown!).
