Deadline reports that the two actresses will be joining the newest USA Network’s pilot.
Complications, which hails from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, will revolve around John Ellis (portrayed by Jason O’Mara) “a disillusioned suburban ER doctor” whose life is altered when he sees a drive-by shooting and saves a boy’s life while killing one of his attackers.
Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl) will play Gretchen, a nurse at Samaritan Hospital’s ER, who is expected to show both her good and bad sides. John Ellis will come to her for help when trying to save the little boy’s life at any cost.
As for Beth Riesgraf (Criminal Minds), she’ll play Samantha, John Ellis’s wife, an intelligent lawyer who is struggling to keep her life, her family and her career on track after losing a daughter to cancer.
Demetrius Gosse (Justified) has also been cast as Dan Brennan, another doctor at Samaritan Hospital, who is John’s closest friend.
The USA Network drama will also welcome Lauren Stamille (Burn Notice), who is expected to play another doctor, Bridget. Although an excellent physician, she has the nasty habit of taking out her frustrations on her patients and colleagues, especially John Ellis.
