Jesse Williams Joins the Cast of Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building’

According to Deadline, Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy, The Cabin in the Woods) will be joining the cast of Hulu’s Emmy award-winning murder mystery show: Only Murders in the Building, as a recurring character. For anyone unaware, Only Murders in the Building follows washed-up, veteran actor Charles Hayden-Savage, played by Steve Martin (Father of the Bride, The Pink Panther) and disgraced playwright Oliver Putnam, played by Martin Short (The Morning Show, Three Amigos), who team up with intrepid, millennial artist Mabel Mora (Wizards of Waverly Place, the Hotel Transylvania series) to create a podcast revolving around their investigations into the mystery of who is killing the residents of the Arconia, the New York apartment complex where all three happen to reside.

As Deadline writes, Williams will be playing a documentarian who develops a keen interest in the case that the three amateur sleuths are working on, that of Hayden-Savage’s recently deceased co-star: Ben Glenroy, played by Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Ghostbusters: Afterlife), who was mysteriously killed right before his debut theatrical performance at the end of last season’s finale. Rudd is also slated to appear in season three, though so far it is unclear in what capacity he will be featured.

Previously, Williams starred in Grey’s Anatomy as heartthrob Dr. Jackson Avery, a role which he has played for almost thirteen years now. He is also known for his roles in Little Fires Everywhere, Brooklyn’s Finest, and the recently released superhero comedy, Secret Headquarters.

Williams also served as an executive producer on the Oscar-winning short film, Two Distant Strangers and has worked as both senior producer and correspondent with screenwriter Norman Lear (All in the Family, One Day at a Time) on the Epix docuseries: America Divided.

The third season of Only Murders in the Building is expected to drop sometime next year, exclusively on Hulu.
