According to mxdwn, the newest season of The Bear returns on Wednesday, June 26th, at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT. All ten episodes of the third season will be available to stream on Hulu after its release. To bolster excitement among fans, Jeremy Allen White (Shameless, The Iron Claw) teased information about his character Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto for season three at the El Capitan Theatre premiere.
To provide context, The Bear centers around Carmen Berzatto as he transitions from the world of fine culinary dining to his family’s local sandwich shop, The Original Beef of Chicagoland, after a death in the family brings him back to his roots. Spoilers warning: season three is to feature “Carmy, Richie and Sydney as they further elevate the sandwich shop, which has now become a fine-dining destination. The day-to-day struggle of running a restaurant gets to Carmy mentally as he gets more intense with his staff, who try to match him,” per mxdwn.
White shared in an interview with Deadline that season three Carmy is reminiscent of “the Carmy you saw after the episode ‘Review’ in the first season where I think he embarrassed himself with how he treated everybody. Instead of facing it and trying to treat it and apologize, I think he buries himself back in his work and he pushes himself and everybody else around him thinking that that is what they want or what they might need.
Even co-star Ayo Edebriri (Bottoms, Theatre Camp) commented on what’s to come in season three, revealing that after reading episode six of the newest season, she cried as it was “written beautifully by our writer Christina [Catherine Schetina (Chucky, Familial)]…and I could see it as soon as I read it,” via an interview with Deadline.
Joining White and Edebriri in the cast are Abby Elliott (No Strings Attached, Indebted), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls, The Punisher), Liza Colón-Zayas (In Treatment, David Makes Man), Lionel Boyce (Loiter Squad, The Jellies!), Oliver Platt (The Three Musketeers, Lake Placid) Molly Gordon (Theatre Camp, Booksmart) and Matty Matheson (It’s Suppertime!, Workin’ Moms) via Deadline.
