The second season of Hunters has found its leading lady. Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), is preparing to star in Amazon Prime Video’s drama series, via Deadline.
Leigh is set to play Chava, who, according to Deadline, is an experienced Nazi hunter who will assist Logan Lerman’s (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) Jonah Heidelbaum and Jerrika Hinton’s (Grey’s Anatomy) Millie Morris efforts to eliminate any surviving Nazis.
The first season of the conspiracy drama followed The Hunters, a group of Nazi hunters, as they searched far and wide for any remaining members of the Nazi Party, via Deadline. Set in 1977 New York, The Hunters quickly learn that hundreds of former Nazi members or sympathizers are living in the United States and are attempting to create a Fourth Reich.
Although further Nazi hunting and termination is expected in season two of Hunters, the majority of the plots has remained relatively secret, according to Deadline. Additionally, it is unconfirmed whether Academy-Award winner Al Pacino (Dog Day Afternoon), who played Meyer Offerman in the first season of Hunters, will return for season two.
Hunters is produced by Amazon Studios, Jordan Peele’s (writer & director, Get Out) Monkey Paw Productions, and Sonar Entertainment. According to Deadline, David Weil (writer, Solos), the creator of Hunters, executive produces the series alongside Peele in addition to serving as the series’ showrunner.
Leigh has most recently been seen in the Netflix series Atypical, which is preparing for its fourth and final season, via Deadline. She is additionally set to star alongside Amy Adams (American Hustle) and Julianne Moore (Still Alice) in an upcoming Netflix original film, The Woman in the Window. Leigh’s other television work includes starring in Patrick Melrose, the television adaptation of Edward St. Aubyn (author, Bad News) novels, as well as the upcoming Lisey’s Story on Apple TV+.
