Fan-favorite and season one standout, Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie), will be reprising her role as Tanya McQuoid in the next season of The White Lotus, via TV Line. The news was confirmed by creator Mike White to the sources at Deadline.
Coolidge’s performance as Tanya received praise from both critics and fans. In the first season, Tanya was a wealthy, older, and emotionally unstable woman who comes to the White Lotus hotel mourning the recent death of her mother. While at the hotel, Tanya finds an unlikely friendship with the resort’s spa manager and looks for love with another guest.
White Lotus followed three groups of visitors at the luxurious White Lotus hotel in Hawaii. Over a week, a darker complexity appears in the picturesque guests, hotel employees, and the idyllic locale itself.
Season two will follow a different group of strangers in another White Lotus location. Season 1 starred Murray Bartlett (Looking), Alexandria Daddario (Percy Jackson), Fred Hechinger (Eighth Grade), Jake Lacy (The Office), Brittany O’Grady (Star), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Connie Britton (The Brothers McCullen), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure), and Steve Zahn (Reality Bites).
The first season was HBO and HBO Max’s top series during its first run. A premiere for season 2 has yet to be confirmed.
