The renowned Netflix series Wednesday received major news from star Jenna Ortega (Stuck in the Middle). Wednesdayfocuses on the titled character’s journey as she traverses through the mystery behind Nevermore Academy. According to Screenrant, Ortega sat down for a recent interview with Extra TV during the press tour of the new Beetlejuice movie and stated, “Not that I am aware of,” in response to being asked if another dance craze will spawn out of season two.

According to Screenrant, the dance in season one became so popular because it was an unexpected move and contradicts Wednesday’s dark and serious nature. If another dance were to be done in the second season, it would lose the surprise factor that worked in the first season. Since season two focuses more on horror than romantic drama, perhaps one of the new horror elements could rival season one’s dance scene.
According to an mxdwn post, other characters returning alongside Ortega will be Emma Myers (Family Switch) as Enid, Joy Sunday (The Beta Test) as Bianca and Hunter Doohan (Soundwave) as Tyler. The new season will also be moving locations from Romania to Ireland. This season could answer the mystery behind the anonymous text messages that Wednesday received at the end of the finale. Whether new season will follow the same format as in the prior remains to be seen.
While Ortega didn’t confirm whether there will be a follow-up to the dance scene in a potential second season, she teased fans that “some surprises” might be in store for them. Additionally, while waiting for further information on the popular series to appear, fans are able to stream the entire first season on Netflix.
