Jenna Ortega shared on the Golden Globes 2023 red carpet her wish for Lady Gaga to join her in Wednesday season two, also sharing her thoughts on Gaga’s possible role in the season, according to Entertainment Weekly.
When discussing Gaga’s possible role in season two, Ortega shares with Entertainment Weekly, “I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”
Ortega and Gaga had gone viral together on TikTok when fans of the series combined Ortega’s performance as Wednesday in the iconic dance sequence at the Rave’N, a ball for students at Nevermore, and Lady Gaga’s 2011 song “Bloody Mary”. Ortega shared with Entertainment Weekly that this viral trend has connected her and Gaga through a “mutual, professional connection in the industry.” Gaga had participated in the trend herself, posting a video of her mimicking the Wednesday dance to her own song, captioning the video “Bloody Wednesday.”

Ortega looked back on a previous interaction with Gaga, sharing with Entertainment Weekly, “A long time ago, I worked with a hairdresser that used to work with her, and I’d just seen Lady Gaga in concert in Boston a couple of years before, and she’d made me a video saying, ‘Hey Jenna, I heard you’re a fan.’ It was a really sweet video. I doubt she had any idea who I was back then, but to see her do [the Wednesday dance on TikTok] now, it’s one of those moments you acknowledge life changes really fast. It’s crazy.”
Wednesday season one is currently available to stream on Netflix. Season two does not have a confirmed premiere date, but Ortega has confirmed that a writers’ room has been put together, via Entertainment Weekly.
