According to Deadline, the ABC hit drama Grey’s Anatomy will be going into its 22 season with two new reoccurring characters. Jen Landon (Animal Kingdom, FBI: Most Wanted) and Sara Paxton (Based On A True Story, Lovestruck: The Musical)have been recently added to the cast list.
Deadline noted that Landon will be seen during the second half of the season in four consecutive episodes as Dr. Toni Wright. Whereas, Paxton will be in two episodes as the character Leticia, who is a relative of a patient in the hospital. Both actresses have already appeared in Grey’s Anatomy previously.
Deadline explains that Landon’s character, Dr. Toni Wright, is a plastic surgeon, who is regarded highly by her peers and fellow doctors. Her character is very intimidating for all those who meet her. Toni has a zest for life and a warm professional bedside manner with her patients and students. Yet, outside of her daily work life, she leads a disorganized, crazed life, saying yes when she should say no.
Deadline notes that plastic surgery has always been a part of Grey Sloan, with doctors such as Mark Sloan and Jackson Avery, played previously by actors Eric Dane (Brilliant Minds, One Fast Move) and Jessie Williams (Olga Dies Dreaming, The Great Lillian Hall). Currently, the plastic surgery department is handled by Drs. Kavita and Kwan, played by Anita Kalathara (Doom Patrol, Paper Flowers) and Harry Shum Jr. (Glee, Shadowhunters), respectively. This field returning to the hospital leaves open the possibility of filming more episodes for Landon.
Deadline explains that Paxton’s Leticia comes to Grey Sloan with her brother Corban, played by actor Conner Price (Overcompensating, The Rookie), who will be hospitalized, leaving Leticia very discouraged. Price and Paxton appear in episodes 2011 and 2012.
Deadline notes that Landon is repped by Bault Entertainment, Jerico Management and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayun Matlof and Fishman. Paxton is repped by Gersh, 3 Arts Entertainment, Gersh and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
