The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air writer/producer Jeffrey Pollack passed away early Monday at the age of 54.
According to Deadline, it seems that Pollack was out for a jog on the greenbelt of Hermosa Beach, where he was found dead. Cause of death is unknown and an autopsy is pending.
Pollack helped create the hit 90s show with Benny Medina, who inspired the show’s main character played by then-rapper Will Smith. The show ran from 1990-1996. He also directed 1997 film Booty Call starring Jamie Foxx and wrote and directed the 1994 movie Above The Rim with Tupac Shakur. He executive produced two Billboard Music Awards in 1992 and 1993, produced Jennifer Lopez In Concert, and worked on The Tyra Banks Show. He directed 1999’s Lost & Found with David Spade and Sophie Marceau.
