Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins Cast Of ‘The Boys’ For Season Four

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead) has agreed to join the cast of the hit Amazon Prime Video series The Boys for the show’s upcoming fourth season, according to Deadline. Morgan will be joining the cast as a recurring guest star, but all other details about his character are currently unknown.

Morgan confirmed the news in a series of tweets on Thursday.

Morgan will be reunited with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke (Boogeyman), who serves as showrunner for The Boys. Morgan portrayed John Winchester in a recurring role on Supernatural.

Kripke discussed the prospect of Morgan joining the show in an interview with E! News in June.

“Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a superfan of the show, so he and I are talking. We’re trying to figure out something for season four. Nothing finalized yet, but he and I are chatting and e-mailing and seeing it we can make it work with his busy schedule. So, stay tuned on that,” Kripke said.

Currently, Morgan can be seen in the 11th and final season of AMC’s The Walking Dead, which he is widely known for playing the role of Negan. After the conclusion of the hit show’s final season, Morgan will reprise the role of Negan in a Walking Dead spinoff series titled Dead City, which is set to premiere in 2023, according to Deadline.

Outside of The Walking Dead, Morgan has had recurring roles on multiple notable TV series throughout his career including roles on shows such as Extreme, The Burning Zone, JAG, Weeds, Grey’s Anatomy, Magic City, The Secret Life Of Marilyn Monroe, Texas Rising, Extant, and The Good Wife. Some of his recent film credits include Fall, The Integrity Of Joseph Chambers, The Unholy, Walkaway Joe, The Postcard Killings, and Rampage.
