The Magic City alum, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is joining the Halle Berry drama as a series regular.
CBS’s drama Extant will be adding Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a series regular.
The show centers around an astronaut named Molly who discovers she has put the human race in serious danger. Halle Berry plays Molly in this mystery thriller. Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play J.D. Richter, a womanizer and bounty hunter. His character is fearless and free-spirited, mostly because he’s got nothing to lose. He thought he had seen everything until Molly (Berry) enters his life and shakes things up.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining Extant in the midst of a creative reset. After its criticized first season, the show is hoping Morgan will spice things up. Halle Berry, Pierce Gagnon and Grace Gummer are the only regulars returning for the new season. Hollywood Reporter conducted an interview with the CBS Entertainment chairman. “We are making changes in terms of the mythology of the show,” Nina Tassler told reporters this month. “Molly is much more proactive after the threat to her world.”
Morgan’s credits include Grey’s Anatomy and History Channel’s Texas Rising. Morgan was featured on Watchmen, P.S. I Love You and will appear the upcoming Bus 657. He was also in Lifetime’s Marilyn TV mini-series as Joe DiMaggio. He’s represented by UTA, Viewpoint, Rob Gomez Management and Bloom Hergott.
Season 2 of Extant will return in the summer.
