Lead actor Jeff Daniels announced via Twitter that the Aaron Sorkin drama The Newsroom will be returning for a third season, according to Indiewire.
Though they haven’t spoken of a set-in-stone third season, HBO made it evident that there would be a return during the TCAs in July, according to Indiewire. CEO of HBO Richard Plepler and president of programming Michael Lombardo said a chance for a third season were “excellent.”
The second season of The Newsroom will conclude with a two-part episode, “Election Night” with the second half airing on September 15.
