Lately, James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Peacemaker) has had his hands full directing DC Studios and its media properties in a direction that makes the DC Universe more cohesive. As CEO of DC Studios, Gunn has been simultaneously working on many scripts for the DC Universe but confirmed that Tim Meadows (Mean Girls, The Goldbergs) will join Peacemaker season two as production is underway for the newest season, reports Comicbook.com.
Comicbook.com continued that Meadows will play the role of Agent Langston Fleury, an original character created for the show, and announced through an Instagram post featuring Gunn, Meadows and Peacemaker cast member Steve Agee (New Girl, Superstore) posing together in front of a table full of Peacemaker scripts.
According to mxdwn, the second season of Peacemaker was announced right before season one ended, with Gunn sharing that he would be writing and directing the new season. While Gunn has written all the episodes for season two, mxdwn continued that because Gunn is working on a new Superman movie and Peacemaker season two simultaneously, Gunn will not be directing all of the episodes for the newest Peacemaker season.
No plot details have been announced for Peacemaker season two. However, another mxdwn article reports that Sol Rodriguez (Star Trek: Picard, Devious Maids) will join the cast as Sasha Bordeaux, a martial artist with connections to Batman, and David Denman (Mare of Easttown, Brightburn), whose role is yet to be announced.
Spoilers Ahead: Season one concludes with Peacemaker and his crew battling a butterfly alien invasion possessing the people of Earth. Peacemaker sorts through family trauma with his evil dad and is able to save Earth from the controlling butterflies. How the plot of season one will fit into the events of season two are unknown.
Peacemaker season two is still in early production but will be available to watch on Max once it officially premieres.
