According to Entertainment Weekly, Jaime Ray Newman has been cast as a series regular for ABC’s upcoming Los Angeles crime thriller, Wicked City.
Earlier in July, we reported that Jeremy Sisto was cast as the new lead for the show. Now, Jaime Ray Newman will join Sisto and the other series regular for the dark anthology series. The ten episode first season will debut in October for ABC. The freshman season is set in 1982 on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles and it follows the LAPD’s search for two romantically involved serial killers. Newman will be joining the cast which includes Sisto (Suburgatory), Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), and Erika Christensen (Traffic).
Executive producers for the show are Amy B. Harris (Gossip Girl), Jon Cassar (24) Laurie Zaks (Castle), David Hoberman (The Fighter), Todd Lieberman (The Fighter), and Steven Baigelman (Brother’s Keeper). Amy B. Harris’ work on the show will mark a reunion between her and actor Ed Westwick, for they both did work for Gossip Girl (via Variety).
Jaime Ray Newman will play Jeremy Sisto’s wife on the series. She is known for her work in Red Widow, Mind Games, Eastwick, Eureka and Drop Dead Diva.
Wicked City premieres October 27 on ABC.
