Amazon MGM Studios has revealed four new additions to its upcoming YA drama, Sterling Point, Deadline reports. Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie (A Colony, Beans), Keen Ruffalo (Hal & Harper, The Beat of the Butterfly), Bo Bragason (Renegade Nell, The Power), and Daniel Quinn-Toye (Badults, The Last Bus) will round out the series’ ensemble cast.
The series is set to premiere under Amazon’s Sterling Point banner and is being developed by Megan Park (My Old Ass, Charlie Bartlett), who will also serve as director and executive producer. The project is described by Deadline as “an ensemble drama with comedy and heart about sisterhood, nature vs nurture, complicated family dynamics, and grief.”
According to Deadline, plot details are scarce. However, it will focus on Annie and her twin brother Conner, who discover they’ve inherited an island from their estranged grandfather. Ella Rubin (The Chair, The Idea of You) and Ruffalo are set to portray the siblings. Whiteduck-Lavoie will portray Ellis, Bragason will play Oona, and Quinn-Toye will step into the role of Rory. They join the previously announced Amélie Hoeferle (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, The Peripheral), who will portray Ramona.
The project’s leadership brings veteran strength in teen-centered storytelling. According to Deadline, Park is co-showrunning the series alongside Josh Schwartz (Runaways, Chuck) and Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl, The O.C.), through their production company Fake Empire. LuckyChap, founded by Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, Focus), Tom Ackerley (Promising Young Woman, Terminal), and Josey McNamara (Saltburn, The Take), is executive producing the series under its first-look TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
Deadline lists Whiteduck-Lavoie is represented by Agence Duchesne & Associées and Luber Roklin Entertainment. Ruffalo is repped by Strand Entertainment, Bragason by Conway van Gelder Grant and Sugar23, and Quinn-Toye by Independent Talent Group and Gang, Tyre, Ramer.
With a compelling premise rooted in legacy and identity, Sterling Point seems poised to resonate with younger audiences looking for nuanced, emotional storytelling. The cast’s range and the creative team’s pedigree set high expectations for the upcoming series.
As Amazon MGM Studios continues to invest in genre-spanning young adult stories, Sterling Point may very well become its next major streaming hit.
