Saturday Night Live, which first started back in 1975, has been well known for captivating audiences worldwide with hilarious skits, wonderful jokes, and outstanding cast.According to Deadline, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the long-running comedy show.  SNL50: The Anniversary Special aired on Sunday, where Adam Sandler (Grown Ups) gave a ballad to tribute the wonderful current and past members that have made the show what it is today —- a great success.

According to Deadline, the tribute also included a nice slideshow homage to iconic moments and scenes done by the cast throughout the years. The song also conveys Sandler reminiscing about the wonderful time Sandler reminisced about the good times and beloved characters that he had the honor to perform as. The lyrics within the ballad touch on the memorable moments and the overall impact that SNL had on pop culture.

According to Deadline, among the crowd that have attended the tribute was a surprise appearance by none other than Jack Nicholson (The Shining), in which Sandler gave an introduction towards and states, “Let’s hear it for Jack, baby! Jack baby out tonight!” In the video, viewers also see other famous celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds (Free Guy), Will Ferrel (Spirited) and Drew Barrymore (Charlie’s Angel).

The unexpected cameo sent shockwaves through the audience and social media alike, as fans express their excitement and admiration for both Nicholson and Sandler.
