The iconic Power Rangers franchise, which has been around for 33 years, is currently stuck in production limbo. According to Screen Rant, Netflix announced back in 2022 that Jenny Klein (Jessica Jones, The Witcher) would serve as showrunner for the morphenomenal series. However, in 2024, the series was reported to be scrapped after franchise owner Hasbro and the streamer ended their deal.
According to Screenrant, a post revealed by one of the reboot’s creative share on what the suit designs of the series would look like, which were simplified versions of the red Mighty Morphin suits. Artist Samuel Garcia shared the concept artwork he worked on with caption stating,“favorite piece from the project.” Beyond the suit aesthetics, the concept art reveals significant creative changes to the team dynamic, with the most noticeable being that the suit seems to fitted a lead female role.

According to Screenrant, after Netflix and Hasbro ended their partnership, Hasbro teamed up with 20th Television back in Mark 2025 to produce a live-action Power Rangers TV series for Disney+. By December, Percy Jackson and the Olympians showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg (Jericho, Black Sails) and Dan Shotz (National Treasure, War Games) are set to join the project. Unfornautly, this idea was scrapped as well due to some financial reasons.
Despite the reboot having been canceled, fans can still watch full seasons of numerous Power Rangers shows, such as Dino Charge, Ninja Steel, and Cosmic Fury, on Netflix or for free on Tubi.
