According to ScreenRant, Fallout‘s Walton Goggins was recently interviewed to discuss the current season of the video game adaptation. Here, he mentioned how it was to reunite with a costar from HBO’s The White Lotus.
ScreenRant writes that in an interview with Deadline, Goggins (Fatman, Predators) talked about working with fellow actor and friend, Jon Gries (Taken 2, Will Penny). In the show, Gries plays Biff, a character the Ghoul runs into on his way to rescue Ella Purnell’s (Sweet Pea, Yellowjackets) Lucy from a sect known as Legion. In season two, Legion is a dangerously powerful army emerging from the East, known for their brutal attacks and flanks and Roman-inspired customs, challenging the established order.
“Jon is a very dear friend of mine,” Goggins said via ScreenRant. “And whenever you work with someone like Mike White, or anybody that you don’t know in that community of actors or crew, whenever you come across them, it’s like family.” He added that Gries has been a good friend of his since before the show and in another HBO hit drama, The Righteous Gemstones.
“Jon just happened to be a friend of mine long before we did that, so it was so good to see him,” Goggins told Deadline via ScreenRant. Goggins and Gries played Rick and Gary, two men who meet each other at the Thailand resort in the show’s third season. The two characters became unlikely allies as their partners became fast friends. For White Lotus enthusiasts, you’ll recognize Gries’ Gary as Greg, the husband to Jennifer Coolidge’s (American Pie, Legally Blonde) Tanya from the first two seasons. In season two, Greg escaped the resort after his wife’s mysterious and untimely death.
According to ScreenRant, Goggins portrayal of Rick in the third season of White Lotus earned him a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance By an Actor in a Supporting Role on Television. The season as a whole received 23 nominations and won one in 2025.
