The second season of the Netflix comedy Unstable has added Iris Apatow (The Bubble, This Is 40) and Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Fargo) to the cast, according to Deadline. The two will reportedly have recurring roles. Unstable is created by Victor Fresco (Better Off Ted, Santa Clarita Diet) and real-life son-and-father duo, John Owen Lowe (Holiday in the Wild, 9-1-1: Lone Star) and Rob Lowe (Parks and Recreation, The West Wing).

Unstable stars Lowe as an adored yet narcissistic biotech entrepreneur, Ellis Dragon, who is trying to improve the world. Owen Lowe portrays Ellis’s son Jackson Drago, who is attempting to save Ellis and the company he owns, as well as mend his relationship with his father.

Deadline reports that Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live, Portlandia) will be returning to the series to guest star as Ellis’s therapist who desperately wants to be his friend, Leslie.

Apatow will play Georgia. Georgia is the eccentric ex-stepdaughter of Sian Clifford’s (Fleabag, Life After Life) character, Anna Bennet. Georgia has an internship she does not want and deals with it by causing issues for Anna. Apatow was recently in The Bubble on Netflix, created by her father, Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The King of Staten Island). She stars in Netflix’s romance drama series Love, along with Paul Rust (Robots, The Great North) and Gillian Jacobs (Community, Invincible).

Morris will portray the likable founder of a biotech start-up, Peter. Peter’s company furthers the issues between Jackson and Ellis. Morris presently plays North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr in the fifth season of Noah Hawley’s (Legion, Lucy in the Sky) Fargo.

According to Deadline, Andrew Gurland (Married, Frat House) serves as showrunner. The series is directed by Claire Scanlon (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Abbott Elementary), who executive produces with Gurland, Lowe, Owen Lowe, and Sean Clements (Workaholics, Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Aaron Branch (Millennials, Kenan), Rachel Marsh (Just Beyond, iCarly), and Emma Ferreira (Midnight at the Paradise, Neon) will also be returning for season two.

Unstable first debuted on Netflix on March 30, 2023.
