The second season of Invincible is on its way! Prime Video has finally announced the premiere date for the second part, IGN reports. The first part was released on Nov. 3rd and the second will be out on March 14th. This second part will consist of four episodes after the eight episodes seen in part one.
The first part left fans with many doubts. But creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman (Rick Grimes 2000, Marvel Zombies, The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor), in special interview with the magazine Collider, has shared what to expect from this second part: “When you see Episode four of Season two, you may need a break. It’s a big episode. It’s definitely a mid-season finale kind of episode.” You can see the interview here.
He has also shared the challenges faced while producing season two during the COVID-19 pandemic in an exclusive interview with IGN at San Diego Comic-Con. “It was the worst possible timing with the series launching in the middle of the pandemic and ramping back up to start Season two and Season three, and also putting systems in place so that this doesn’t happen again,” Kirkman explained via IGN. “That was a herculean task.”
Despite the struggles he went through to create this phenomenal second season, Kirkman stated via IGN, that “all of the work that was done in this time is ensuring that that is the longest gap that anyone will ever have to wait between seasons of Invincible.”
Invincible is based off the famous comicbook created Ryan Ottley (Grizzlyshark, Amazing Spider-Man) Kirkman and Cory Walker (Science Dog). It focuses on Mark Grayson, an 18-year-old average guy, but there is one detail in his life that he can’t rid of: his father was a powerful superhero. In the first season, viewers saw that Mark is struggling to put his life back on track by still facing challenges and threats, afraid he will become like his father used to be.
The first season and the second season first half of Invincible are available to stream now on Prime Video.
