Invincible is back. Yesterday, Prime Video debuted the teaser trailer at New York Comic Con. 4,500 fans of the series watched the Burger Mart-inspired preview at the panel. In attendance were cast members Steven Yeun (Beef, Minari) and Gillian Jacobs (Community, The Bear) , as well as co-creator, executive producer, and co-showrunner Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Fear Of The Walking Dead). They announced the series, produced by Skybound Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, will premiere in March 2026.
The series also introduced Lee Pace (Foundation, Bodies Bodies Bodies) as a member of the cast to the delight of many fans. Pace will play Thragg, one of the most highly anticipated characters in the series. Thrag is the Viltrum Empire’s leader, also known as the Grand Regent. As fans of the series know, he is one of the most powerful villains within the Invincible universe. Viltrum operates within a strength-based hierarchy, so the man at the top must be a mighty and imposing figure. Since his birth, Thragg’s sole purpose has been to lead the Viltrum Empire to dominance of the galaxy.
The third season of Invincible was a massive success for Prime Video, currently ranking as the most-watched adult animation series of all time for the studio. In addition to streaming numbers, the series has received nominations at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Primetime Emmy Awards. Both of the nominations were for Best Animated Series. Invincible season three currently maintains an astonishing 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season four will take place during the aftermath of a catastrophe as the world attempts to heal. Mark Grayson continues to protect the world as Invincible, all the while, a threat of previously unseen magnitude sets its course for Earth.
Kirkman not only created the television series but is also the mind behind the original comics. His other co-creators of the show are Cory Walker (Invincible, Invincible: Atom Eve) and Ryan Ottley (Invincible,The Amazing Spider-Man).
