According to Deadline, Interview with the Vampire and The Walking Dead spinoffs, The Ones Who Live and Daryl Dixon, will be resuming production as AMC Networks has come to agreements with SAG-AFTRA. The three series are currently a part of interim agreements with AMC Networks.
Deadline reports that AMC Networks confirmed the waivers. It is reported that the interim agreements are specific to the three series, not a blanket agreement between the guild and the company. AMC Networks is not one of the studios involved in the negotiations, but they are a member of the AMPTP.
“We greatly value the work of our creative partners and hope these disputes can be resolved as quickly and fairly as possible,” said Kristin Dolan, AMC Networks CEO, according to Deadline. “In the short term, the reality for AMC Networks is that we have a pipeline of finished shows that will allow us to continue to serve our viewers across all of our platforms for the remainder of this year and well into 2024,” she said on the company’s second quarter earnings call.
These are the most significant TV properties to reach an agreement since the actors went on strike.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is set to debut on September 10 and stars Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead, The Boondock Saints) as the titular character. The series follows Daryl as he struggles to piece together how he washed up on the shore of France.
Along with Reedus, the series stars Melissa McBride (The Mist, The Walking Dead: Origins), Clémence Poésy (The Tunnel, Resistence), and Adam Nagaitis (Chernobyl, Red Rose).
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is set to air in 2024 and stars Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead, Love Actually), PollyAnna McIntosh (Vikings: Valhalla, The Woman), and Danai Gurira (Black Panther, The Walking Dead).
Interview with the Vampire first aired on October 2, 2022 and stars Sam Reid (Belle, The Newsreader), Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones, Adulthood), and Bailey Bass (Interview with the Vampire, Avater: The Way of Water).
