The new AMC gothic horror series, Interview with the Vampire, is set to premiere on October 2, 2022. However, in September 2022 it was renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere. According to Deadline The series is created by Rolin Jones (Friday Night Lights) and it’s based on Anne Rice’s novel (The Vampire Lestat) which was published in 1976.
It was quite a challenge to put a new take on the book and the original movie that starred Tom Cruise (Top Gun), Brad Pitt (Fight Club), and Kirsten Dunst (Bring It On). This new interpretation of Interview with the Vampire promises to put a timely spin on the story.
“The scope and breadth of this show, and what Mark and Rolin have delivered, is just stupendous. They have rendered the rich and vibrant world of Anne Rice’s Interview in a wonderful way, and we’re incredibly proud. From the set build, to production design, costumes and more — no detail was overlooked. This stellar cast deliver powerful performances that emotionally connect us to these characters and their humanity,” said Dan McDermott, president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, in a statement, via Deadline.
It is an epic plot full of love, blood and the dangers of immorality as told to journalist Daniel Molloy played by Eric Bogosian. The cast includes Sam Reid (The Newsreader), Jacob Anderson (Doctor Who), Bailey Bass (A Gift of Murder), Eric Bogosian (Uncut Gems).
Unfortunately, Anne Rice, who was an executive producer, passed away last December. The executive producers are Mark Johnson (The Notebook) and Christopher Rice (The Flame). Alan Taylor (Sex and the City) is directing the first two episodes and also executive producers. AMC Studios will produce.
Interview With The Vampire is set to premiere Oct 2, 2022 10PM EST. on AMC.
