‘Inside Out’ Spinoff Series Has Been Finished And On Disney+ By Spring 2025

The world of the Pixar Movie Inside Out is venturing even larger than just inside Riley’s head. According to Deadline, the Chief Creative Officer at Pixar Animation Studios recently dropped hints and small teases of a new Inside Out spinoff series. Not only that, but he also leaked that it would be on Disney+ by 2025.

With the recent success of Inside Out, the sequel to the first movie of the same title, Pete Docter, the CCO of Pixar Animation Studios, recently spoke to Entertainment Weeklyabout the spinoff series. Not only did he reveal that it is in the works, but he also dropped that it is near completion. The filmmaker also dove into some details about what the series will be about and the setting of it all.

“We have finished. It’s coming out next spring. I’m not sure that there’s been a specific release date,” the creative officer said to Entertainment Weekly,  “In the first film, remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird.”

The news of the spinoff series comes along with the smashing success of the new Inside Out movie. According to Deadline, the latest film has recently broken several records including being the second-biggest domestic animated opening of all time bringing in $154.2M. Not only that, but at 295$M, it has also broken the record for biggest opening of an animated movie worldwide. 

The film centers around Riley, a young girl who is entering her teenage years and the characters that represent each emotion in her head. In the prior film, we got to meet the emotions of Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear. But, as life goes on and becomes more complicated, we get to meet new emotions that come into play such as Anxiety, Envy, and Nostalgia. The movie follows Riley as she deals with these new emotions.

Inside Out 2 is now playing in theaters. The spin-off series is estimated to be on streaming platforms in 2025.
