Variety reported on Monday that Bravo has officially renewed their dark comedy series Imposters for a second season. The sophomore season has not yet set a release date, but will begin filming this fall.
Imposters tells the story of Maddie (Inbar Lavi), a con-artist lover, who plays her love interests for her own financial gain. Assisted by her two teammates, she manipulates both men and women, leaving them financially ruined and heartbroken. But her charmed life becomes complicated when she begins to fall for a boyfriend, all while being hunted by three ex-boyfriends/girlfriends (Rob Heaps, Parker Young, and Marianne Rendon) who have teamed up to find her. The series also stars Stephen Bishop and Brian Benben. Uma Therman also had a recurring role in the first season as Dr Lenny Cohen.
Created by Adam Brooks and Paul Adelstein, the series premiered on February 7th, with the season finale aired last Tuesday. Lavi, an Israeli-American actress, can also be seen in the Prison Break revival on Fox in the role of Sheeba, a Yemeni activist. She has previously appeared in episodes of Entourage, Criminal Minds, Sons of Anarchy, and Castle.
Frances Berwick, president of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s Lifestyle Networks, said the following about the renewal of the series:
Imposters has truly resonated with our audience and critics alike with its unique brand of suspense and humor. We’re excited to see what the future holds for this unlikely band of flawed, but lovable characters that our talented creators and actors have fully brought to life.
Jeff Wachtel, president and chief content officer of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment also said the following:
Adam, Paul and our wonderful cast and crew are delivering a mad and merry show that makes us all proud. We’re excited that even more people will be able to join the party next season.
Season 2 of Imposters will have 10 episodes, like the first season. The announcement was made during an FYC panel in Los Angeles on Monday. Stay tuned for more news about the second season and a premiere date.
