The famous Star Wars franchise has been quite busy this year generating a wave of new content which includes its newly animated series, Maul – Shadow Lord, which has wrapped up its first season and its film, The Mandalorian and Grogu. Reported by Comicbook, exciting news for fans of the franchise is that second season of Ahsoka is currently under way. The last time on the series, Grand Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen (Frankenstein, The Kiling) successfully escape back into the known galaxy, at the same time leaving Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson (The Defenders, The Mandalorian), Sabine, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society, Day Shift) and Huyang, voiced by David Tennant (Doctor Who, Duck Tales) stranded on Peridea.
On the other side of the galaxy, Ezra Bridger, played by Eman Esfandi (Red 11, Firewall) had stowed away and successfully made his way back to the rebel forces and reunited with Hera, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Kate, Rich Flu) and Chopper, voiced by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: Rebel, Star Wars: Restistance).
According to Comicbook, Filoni disccused in an interview with Screenrant on the red carpet giving subtle hints on it release window,”whiling giving subtle hints on the release window,”I’m not saying, but I might know.” He also touched base on whether the sci-fi series would continue into a third season, responding, “You never know. Everything is working as planned; I know where the story goes and where it should tie up, so I’m not really worried about that.”
Regardless of the specific plot direction, the second season is poised to significantly broaden the show’s world-building, effectively setting the stage for a more expansive journey that bridges the gap between the series and the upcoming film. While the audience await on further information surrounding the second season’s release date and plot, the entire prior season of Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+.
