Hulu’s ‘Young Americans’ Sets Five Actors For Lead Teen Roles

Hulu’s Young Americans has cast its five main lead actors. According to Deadline, Billie Boullet (World Breaker, Man on Fire), Sam Rechner (Ruby’s Choice, Scream 7), Mia Isaac (Don’t Make Me Go, Not Okay), Oscar Winter (Earthworms, I feel Pretty) and Lauren Mei (Nian, Fur-Ever Family) will portray the central teenagers of the young-adult D.C. drama.

Written by Chris Hutton (Sticks and Stone, The Anxiety Fairy) & Eddie O’Keefe (When the Streetlights Go On, The Ghosts), Young Americans centers on the sons and daughters of the country’s most powerful figures at Capitol Crest Academy in Washington, D.C. The series follows the teenagers as they navigate high-stakes rivalries that reflect the political conflicts unfolding within their families. As hidden truths, public scandals, and dangerous power struggles emerge, a romance between students from rival political dynasties risks pushing already strained relationships to the brink.

Boullet will play Julia Burchfield. Daughter of President Judd Bucherfield, Julia is independent, clever, and ready to live a normal teenage life again after spending a year in seclusion following the mysterious death of her older sister. Bucherfield enrolls in Capital Crest, the elite school her sister once attended, hoping to get her young life back.

Rechner will play Rome Washbrun. Washbrun is an enigmatic, charming son of a divisive senator who begins to question the political environment he grew up in and seeks a path independent of his family’s legacy.

Isaac will play Saskia Carmichael. Saskia is a gorgeous, strategically adopted daughter of the highly influential Washington media dynasty. She is the queen of the school and is very tactical in how she uses her influence and status.

Winter is a Hollywood newcomer. He will play Hogan Young. Hogan, the son of the Vice President, is handsome but overly confident. He is driven to continue in his father’s footsteps into an even greater political career than his.

Mei will play Harper Sinclair. Harper is a cherished and incredibly intelligent student who attends Capital Crest on a scholarship. In a surprising turn of events, she becomes a guide to Julia as she helps her navigate the school’s complex social dynamics. However, her straight-laced demeanor hides a secretive, mischievous side.

Previously, Scott Foley (Scrubs, Will Trent) was cast to play U.S. President Judd Burchfield in the first casting announcement for Young Americans.
