The first season of This Fool debuted on Netflix in August of 2022. The series was renewed for a second season three months later. According to Entertainment Weekly, Hulu has released the trailer for season two in anticipation of its premiere on July 28th.
This Fool was created by Chris Estrada (Keeping Company, Golden Toad Sketch Comedy), Pat Bishop (Corporate, Every 3D Movie Is the Same), Matt Ingebretson (Corporate, Violet), and Jake Weisman (Corporate, The Eric Andre Show).
The first season of This Fool revolves around the character Julio Lopez. Played by creator Chris Estrada, Lopez still lives in his childhood home and finds work at a gang rehabilitation center called Hugs Not Thugs. The season ended with Hugs Not Thugs going out of business.
As the trailer depicts, the second season revolves around Lopez and his friends trying to open up their own business. Lopez and his friends Luis, played by Frankie Quinones (The Dress Up Gang, El Chicano), and Minister Payne, played by Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos, The White Lotus), come up with a plan to open a coffee franchise. They decide to name this franchise Mugs Not Thugs.
