During the airing of the 2022 Oscars ceremony, Hulu unveiled the first look at the upcoming sophomore season of its hit comedy series, Only Murders in the Building, according to Variety. It shows newest cast members Cara Delevingne (Carnival Row) and Oscars co-host Amy Schumer (Trainwreck).
The debut season of the series starred the trio Selena Gomez’s (Monte Carlo) Mabel Mora, Steve Martin’s (Cheaper by the Dozen) Charles-Haden Savage and Martin Short’s (The Father of the Bride) Oliver Putnam and saw them develop a true crime podcast centering around a suspicious murder in their New York apartment complex, the Arconia. The upcoming second season is set after season one’s cliffhanger, with Arconia board president Bunny, played by Jayne Houdyshell (The Humans), found dead. The new teaser reveals the group recording a new podcast episode, alongside scenes of them searching for clues about Bunny’s murder, which they have now become suspects in.
Delevingne will star as a new character named Alice, and Schumer will guest star as a version of herself. Michael Rapaport (Atypical) will join the cast as the detective investigating Bunny’s murder. Meanwhile, the new season will show Aaron Dominguez (Words on Bathroom Walls) reprising his role as Oscar, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Lost City) reprising her role as Detective Williams.
While Only Murders in the Building was renewed for a second season in August 2021, its official premiere date was revealed just last week via a 25-second clip on the streamer’s Instagram. The second season will premiere on Hulu on June 28.
