Hulu just released the first look at its new original drama, The Path. Variety published the photos, courtesy of Hulu and Greg Lewis. The Path, created by Jessica Goldberg, who also created Parenthood, is about a cult. It looks like the online streaming service is trying to build its own following by releasing the still images from the upcoming series.
The Path was originally titled The Way and stars Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) as Cal Roberts, the charming leader of the controversial Meyerism movement. What Meyerism is exactly, nobody seems to know. Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Michelle Monaghan (Source Code) also star in the drama as Eddie and Sara Lane, a married couple raising a teenage son in the midst of the cult. Paul’s character is a member by choice, and Monaghan’s character was born into the movement. The show follows the characters’ struggles with relationships and power. The Path also features appearances by Sarah Jones, Rockmond Dunbar, Emma Greenwell, Kyle Allen, and Amy Forsyth.
Goldberg will executive produce The Path alongside Michelle Lee and Friday Night Lights creator Jason Katmis.
