Hulu drops dates for new comedy series Mid-Century Modern. Fans gear up for the premiere on March 28th. Hulu debuts new type of comedy following three older gay men. Deadline shares the synopsis with fans in an article. “It follows three gay gentlemen of a certain age who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs, where the wealthiest one lives with his mother. As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done.”
The creators of the series are some familiar faces. Max Mutchnick (Will & Grace) and David Kohan (Will & Grace) created and wrote the new comedy. The cast for the series excites fans and provides high expectations. We follow Matt Bomer (The Boys in the Band) starring as Jerry Frank, Nathan Lane (Only Murders In the Building) starring as Bunny Schneiderman, and her last and memorable role Linda Lavin (No Good Deed). Lavin spent her final role with the new Hulu series. In December Lavin ultimately met her battle with lung cancer. Fans anticipate her performance but are sad to see her go. Viewers will get to see her in the ten-part series for season one. Writers Mutchnick and Kohan thought it was best to write off her character in tribute episode. They shared with Deadline the experience of paying respects to a friend. “This Week at Mid-Century Modern we filmed an episode I never thought we’d have to write”, “Saying goodbye to the character of Sybil was painful. Saying goodbye to Linda Lavin was heartbreaking.” In their final remarks, they decided to title episode ten “Here’s to You, Mrs. Schneiderman”. Tune into Hulu on March 28th for the premiere.
