Hulu Casts James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson & Sarah Shahi For Dan Fogelman’s Original Series

According to Deadline, Hulu casts James Marsden (The Notebook, Sonic the Hedgehog), Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County, Mare of Easttown) and Sarah Shahi (Red, White & Royal Blue, Person of Interest) for Dan Fogelman’s (This Is UsOnly Murders in the Buildingoriginal series. Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction, This Is Us) has already been cast as one of the leads.

According to Deadline, the premise of the series has yet to be said but a few character descriptions have been posted. Marsden has been cast as the President. Nicholson’s character is “a political force/power player behind the scenes, while Shahi plays a therapist to those in power with secrets of her own.”

According to Deadline, the series will be produced by 20th Television and executive produced by Steve Beers (21 Jump Street, Dead Like Me), Brown, Glenn Ficarra (Bad Santa, I Love You Phillip Morris), Fogelman, John Hoberg (Elemental, My Name Is Earl), John Requa (Focus, Rabbit Hole) and Jess Rosenthal (Fire With Fire, This Is Us).

Marsden recently appeared in season three of Party Down alongside Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Step Brothers), Ken Marino (Wet Hot American Summer, The Babysitter), Jane Lynch (GleeThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars, 2 Broke Girls). Marsden is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Nicholson recently starred in Dream Scenario, an American black comedy fantasy film written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself, DRIB). She co-stars with Nicolas Cage (Raising Arizona, Leaving Las Vegas), Michael Cera (Arrested DevelopmentScott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Tim Meadows (The GoldbergsMean Girls). Nicholson is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and B-Side Management.

Shahi recently appeared in an American romantic comedy Red, White & Royal Blue with Taylor Zakhar Perez (The Kissing Booth 2Minx), Nicholas Galitzine (Purple Hearts, Bottoms) and Clifton Collins Jr. (Thief, Westworld). Shahi is repped by Independent Artists Group, Untitled Entertainment and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.
