Comicbook has reported that the King Of The Hill revival series has been renewed for three new seasons. Hulu recently released a first look at the animated slice-of-life series. The series originally aired on Fox, but it ended its run 15 years ago. Hulu decided that the series still had more to offer and revived it for streaming. The new series experienced a time skip, and Hank and Peggy return to Arlen after a 10-year absence. Living in a new age, the dynamics of the characters and relationships have shifted.
According to Comicbook, many believed that the show’s 15th season was already in production prior to the announcement, but fans of the series were in for a treat after they discovered that the revival will also be getting a 16th and 17th season. With the announcement came a brief glimpse of some clips from the upcoming season. Watch the first look below.
Via Comicbook, Season 15 is currently scheduled for release in 2026, with specific dates to be announced. During the first look, we see Peggy, Minh, and Nancy standing in the alley, an unusual twist on its usual occupants and a moment not seen in previous seasons.
Comicbook has reported that Season 14 was able to recapture much of the magic that the series had produced in its prior run, but was limited by its ten-episode schedule. Most notably, we saw the building of Peggy’s post-retirement arc but were unable to delve deeper. Season 15 will hopefully see a standalone episode that focuses on Peggy’s journey.
According to Comicbook, season 15 will hopefully tie up many of the loose ends from Season 14, as well as delve into some of the new characters who showed promise in their brief tenure.
Via Comicbook, some characters from the original run have been absent from the Hulu revival so far, including Lucky and Luane. They have not been recast due to the deaths of their voice actors, Brittany Murphy (Clueless, 8 Mile) and Tom Petty (The Simpsons, The Postman) .
