Hulu Announces Summer Premiere Dates for ‘Difficult People,’ ‘Casual’ and Others

Just a few weeks after CBS and NBC released their summer schedule, streaming service Hulu has released their summer premiere dates, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Not only will fan favorite shows Casual and Difficult People be returning for their third seasons, but Hulu is also stepping up their documentary library and will debut three documentaries this summer.

First up is the documentary Batman & Bill, which will be released on Saturday, May 6. Batman & Bill focuses on the other creator of Batman, Bill Finger, who history has neglected over time. Finger originally came up with the concept and costume of Batman. Author Marc Tyler Nobleman tries to learn as much as he can about Finger to try and get him the recognition he deserves.

Next up on the documentary is Becoming Bond, which will be released on Saturday, May 20. This documentary focuses on George Lazenby, who portrayed James Bond for one movie after Sean Connery left the franchise. The documentary looks at how he rose to fame after being a car mechanic to portraying a well-known pop culture icon and turned his back on it after only movie.

Casual returns for its third season on Tuesday, May 23. The third season focuses on Val’s decision to move out of the house she was sharing with brother, Alex, and daughter, Laura. The three of them continue to struggle through life while trying to find the right balance to their personal lives and their professional lives.

The final documentary that Hulu will release this summer is Dumb: The Story of Big Brother Magazine, which premieres on Saturday, June 3. The documentary will look at Big Brother magazine when it was in its heyday and was read by skateboarders across the country and will also show footage of some of the stunts that skateboarders did. Steve Rocco, Spike Jonze, Steve-O and Tony Hawk, among others, will take part in the documentary.

Rounding out Hulu’s summer is the return of Difficult People for its third season on Tuesday, Aug. 8. The season will follow Billy, who has finally found true love, and Julie, who tries to find happiness in any way she can after learning she can’t take any anti-depressants.
