Yesterday, Hulu posted an official season five trailer for its popular adult animated series Solar Opposites. The trailer was posted on its YouTube channel, officially announcing August 12 as its premiere date. In addition, press release by Hulu confirmed there will be 11 episodes throughout the season and an official synopsis of its fifth season.
The official synopsis reads: “Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food, and fun stuff. On season five, now that alien mission partners Terry and Korvo are married, the whole Solar Opposites team are focused on family values.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hulu also plans to air a Solar Opposites Halloween Special later this year and renew the series for a sixth season.
A week ago, Hulu also released a season four recap of Solar Opposites titled The Wall Recap. Unlike the season five trailer, The Wall Recap focuses on characters that relate very little to the main characters.
The latest recap depicts an entire civilization trapped within the wall of Jesse’s room. The people inside the wall have created a society within the wall. The people inside the wall, however, realize that they will freeze to death, but the tyrannical ruler of the wall, Sisto, plans to keep everyone else in the room captive. A war breaks out between the people who want to stay within the wall and people who wish to escape the wall into the backyard. Although this storyline is separate from the original plot, many fans hope to see more episodes regarding the wall.
