The upcoming second season of Hulu’s Love, Victor will introduce actress Betsy Brandt (Life In Pieces, Breaking Bad) to its cast in a recurring role, according to Deadline. The streaming program was created by Elizabeth Berger (This Is Us, Grandfathered) and Isaac Aptaker (This Is Us) and is based on the Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Riverdale, You) film in 2018 entitled Love, Simon. The spinoff series premiered in the early summer of 2020 and its first season consisted of ten episodes. Hulu announced that the series has been renewed for second season in late summer 2020. The series is executive produced by Aptaker, Berger, Wyck Godfrey (Twilight, Paper Towns), Jason Ensler (The Passage, The Newsroom), and many more.
Love, Victor centers around the high school student Victor who attempts to navigate the difficulties of self-identification through his sexual orientation during a new move to a new high school, Creekwood High. The series cast includes Michael Cimino (Annabelle Comes Home) as Victor, Bebe Wood (The Real O’Neals) as Lake Meriwether, Anthony Turpel (9-1-1, Henry Danger) as Felix Westen, Rachel Hilson (This Is Us, The Americans) as Mia Brooks, Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty, Devious Maids) as Victor’s mother Isabel Salazar, James Martinez (House of Cards) as Victor’s father Armando Salazar, and many others.
Brandt is known for her television roles on the CBS comedy program Life In Pieces as well as her breakout role as Walter White’s sister-in-law Marie Schrader in AMC’s hit drama Breaking Bad. For her role on the AMC drama series, she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in its final fifth season in 2014. Brandt’s addition to the Hulu series will see her as Dawn, the mother of Turpel’s character Felix who is one of Victor’s neighbors in the program.
Currently, it is unknown when the series will debut its second season on the streaming service.
