The upcoming animated series for Hulu and Marvel Studios, M.O.D.O.K., unveiled its first look at the unique animation, according to Screen Rant. The upcoming Marvel Studios series is an adult-animated stop-motion program that provides another outlet of comedy within the MCU. The series is created by Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio, The King of Queens) and Jordan Blum (Community) and is also executive produced by Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Family Guy), Eric Towner (Robot Chicken, Camp WWE), Jeph Loeb (Smallville), John Harvatine (Robot Chicken, Crossing Swords), Matthew Senreich (Robot Chicken, SuperMansion), Blum, Oswalt, and many more. At the New York Comic-Con panel, Blum in addition to cast members and producers demonstrated the stop-motion style for one of the more unique Marvel visual products in recent memory.
M.O.D.O.K. centers on the titular supervillain following his removal of power in A.I.M., a criminal organization in the Marvel universe, as he begins to cope with his situation and balance his family life in a comedic presentation. The series’ voice cast includes Oswalt voicing M.O.D.O.K., Ben Schwartz (House of Lies, Parks and Recreation) as Lou Tarleton, Aimee Garcia (Dexter, Lucifer) as Jodie Tarleton, Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Melissa Tarleton, Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live) as Austin Van Der Sleet, Jon Daly (Betas, Kroll Show), as Super-Adaptoid, Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Sam Richardson (Champaign ILL, Veep) as Gary, and many more.
Currently, the comic book series does not have an exact premiere date, but is expected to be released sometime in 2021 on Hulu. This joins Helstrom as another Marvel series arriving on the streaming service. Check out the full New York Comic-Con Panel and some short clips from M.O.D.O.K. below:
