It’s time to take a trip back to the 80s. Bon Jovi is getting the band back together as a new docuseries is in the works and has now just recently been acquired by Hulu. According to Deadline, the docuseries titled Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story will not only feature Bon Jovi himself but the original members of his band as well.
The four-part docuseries is directed by Gotham Chopra. There have been a handful of documentaries and a lot of media that centers around Bon Jovi and his role in music and entertainment, including When We Were Beautiful, a documentary that was a part of the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival. Hulu has confirmed that all past and present members of the band will be working on the project and have the streamer’s “full cooperation”. This will include presumably the faces of Richie Sambora, Dave Sabo, David Bryan, Tico Torres, High McDonald, and Alec John Such according to Deadline.
The announcement of the new series comes right after the band celebrated the 40th anniversary of their self-titled album which highlighted the song Runaway as the lead single and massive hit. The band has been able to sell well over 130 million albums in their career span.
The series will debut on April 26 in the US. It will hit the streaming service Hulu first, but then followed up by Disney+ internationally. Deadline exclusively described the series to be about the band’s massive highs and lows. “It will feature forty years of personal videos, unreleased early demos, original lyrics, and never-before-seen photos that chronicle the journey from Jersey Shore clubs to the biggest stages on the planet. It will relive the band’s triumphs and setbacks, greatest hits, biggest disappointments, and most public moments of friction.” said Deadline.
