The star of an upcoming series from Hulu announced some unfortunate news this week. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Hilary Duff (The Lizzie McGuire Show, Younger), who is set to lead Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, tested positive for the coronavirus. Duff revealed Friday she had tested positive for COVID via her Instagram stories.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duff described her symptoms in the post’s caption while calling the Delta variant a “little bitch.” The story captured Duff lying in bed with a “bad headache. No taste or smell. Sinus Pressure. Brain fog.” Fortunately, Duff added she was “Happy to be vaxxed” alluding to her having already been vaccinated against the virus.
The news comes just days after Duff posted the first photo from the How I Met Your Father set, as production was to begin this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the photo from her Instagram page, Duff is joined by the series cast with the caption “Who’s ready for us? We may or may not have been sitting in front of a certain someones apartment…. #himyf.”

Hulu’s How I Met Your Father is a spinoff from the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, which aired from 2005 to 2014. The original series starred Josh Radnor (Liberal Arts, Happythankyoumoreplease) as a father telling his children how he and their mother met years before “I do” was uttered. The new series will follow a similar premise with Duff’s Sophia detailing her unique love story to her own son.
The Hollywood Reporter reports Duff will be joined by Tom Ainsley (Serpent, Boots on the Ground), Brandon Michael Hall (God Friended Me, Search Party), Chris Lowell (Promising Young Woman, The Help), Francia Raisa (grown-ish, Life-Size 2) Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi, God Friended Me), and Tien Tran (Candyman, A Legendary Christmas).
